Ring Sizing - Australian Ring Size Chart
Ring sizes come from the various different widths (diameters) that rings can be made in. Just like shoe sizes, ring sizes vary slightly depending on what country’s measurement you’re using. Australian sizes are based on a traditional system. Find your international ring size using our ring size chart below.

In Russia, ring sizes are the same as the inner diameter rounded to whole, half numbers or quarters, for example a diameter of 16.92 mm is a size 17, and 16.4 mm a size 16.5.
If your size is not in the table above but you have measured your finger circumference (around), divide that number by pi and you will actually get your European ISO ring size. The reason we divide by pi is to convert the circumference (around) into diameter (side to side).

Can rings be resized?
For gold and silver rings, they can generally be resized. However it does depend on the style of the ring and the material it's made from. While gold and sterling silver rings can be resized, some metals, including titanium and tungsten rings, cannot be resized because of the metals’ extreme hardness. Ring styles that feature diamonds or gemstones set the entire way around the band cannot be resized, because one or more of the stones would have to be removed. Rings made from metals like cobalt cannot easily be resized due to the dangers of working with cobalt metal vapours.
Here at Stem and Seed Jewellery Australia, we actually will custom make your ring for your size, instead of resizing it by removing / adding metal. By making your perfect size, we avoid any potential issues that come with significant upsizing and downsizing. Contact us today to organise a free 30 minute consultation.
