The Chorioactis Geaster is a phantom of the forest, found only in a few secret corners of Japan, Texas, and Taiwan. I was captivated by its transformation: a humble pod that suddenly bursts into a bold, celestial star. I returned to my studio on the Gold Coast determined to capture that precise moment of 'blooming' in its natural habitat in heavy sterling silver.
