The sumitate kaku ni jinuki kikko ni mitsu boshi is a Japanese family crest called a Kamon. This piece, inspired by Japanese KAMON. KAMON is a symbol of family, identity and heritage. In the style of the Japanese family crest "Sumitate Kaku ni Jinuki Kikkou ni Mitsuboshi" (隅立て角に地抜き亀甲に三つ星).
This piece combines the geometric shape of the Sumidate Kaku, with the hollowed out design of the Jinuki. Kikkou represents the tortoise, which is a symbol of longevity and good fortune in Japanese, signifying a wish for a long and prosperous life. In an alternate design, the Mitsuboshi holds 3 gems set in between the "three stars", adding a celestial element to the piece as well.
